Emilie Kunis - Groom

Emilie was born in 1987 in southern Sweden. She started riding ponies as a 6-year old. Her mother rode and she wanted to try herself. Emilie got her first own pony when she was 7 years old. First she got a medium pony that was a Fjordhorse/Swedish gotlandsruss cross and later on she got a large pony, an Arabian horse. She showed the ponies in all different disciplines - dressage, eventing and show jumping.

Emilie went to school in her hometown until high school. After that, when 16 years old she decided to leave home and go to boearding school and focus on horses. She begun a program at the Bollerup Agricultural School and studied a science major which also included equine studies. Every year Emilie the equine studies increased. At the end of her three years of school she had broke a young warmblood horse from her school and showed it in the Swedish 3-year old tests were the horse received great score and ended up a class 1 horse.

Her driving interest started as she tried it in school. She got to know the Swedish single driver Magnus Kronberg and helped him at some horse shows as a groom and navigator. She has also helped the Swedish National Champion i pair driving on some occasions.

Olof heard about Emilie's great skills thru a good friend that worked as a teacher at the Bollerup Agricultural School and contacted her as she finished school. She came to the States and really liked her work in the barn. Now she is showing her great work ethic and nice smile at Live Oak Combined Driving!
