Adhering
to the age-old concept of strength in numbers, three
of the consistently Top 10 ranked international Four-in-Hand drivers
have come together to form a new competitive team. (with Freund-
the #1 International Four-in-Hand.) Chester Weber (USA), Michael
Freund (Germany), and Boyd Exell (Australia) created the GLOBAL
TEAM in 2002.
The
idea makes perfect sense to Weber, Freund and Exell since combined
driving is, in essence, a team sport, requiring dedicated team spirit
to succeed. Each of the three drivers brings their own unique talents
to the team, with Freund -the many times #1 International Four-in-Hand
Driver (for 2001/2002) - serving as team captain. All three GLOBAL
TEAM members finished the year ranked among the Top 10 drivers,
which qualifies each of them to participate in upcoming World Cup
Driving (events for the 2002/2003 season.)
At
the 2002 World Equestrian Games, held in Jerez, Spain, GLOBAL TEAM
member Chester Weber achieved his greatest international success
to date by placing fifth individually and securing the Silver medal
for the U. S. Team.
As
GLOBAL TEAM combines new technologies with horses and humans in
this thrilling, high performance sport, the opportunities for sponsorship
increase exponentially. Show jumping has long been an equine sport
which attracts large, enthusiastic crowds and enjoys the backing
of prominent international sponsors. With the recent expansion of
Four-in-Hand driving as an indoor competition, GLOBAL TEAM offers
sponsors similar opportunities to keep their names and logos before
the public. The scope of sponsorship options is greater now than
ever before in the history of combined driving
